Life interrupts

jack in the hospital Sept 09

So this is why I have been absent the last few days.  Jack landed in the hospital when he started to have trouble breathing on Sunday.  We were at the hospital until Tuesday afternoon.  He’s all better now though, so all’s well with the world.  The picture above is Jack sleeping in the hospital crib with Elmo.  So cute (if I do say so myself).  And in case you were wondering, yes, an adult can fit in the hospital crib with a child.  It’s not incredibly comfortable but doable if there is a need, i.e., child demands you to sleep with him.

I am behind now with my plans to make Butterick 5314 and my Burda trench coat.  But I have a lesson tonight with Thea and hopefully we’ll be able to get back on track.  I am trying not to let deadlines bring me down.  The most important part is making something, not when it is completed, right?

Anyway, I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend and were able to get some sewing in.

Happy sewing!

  1. The important thing is Jack is feeling better…sewing projects will wait patiently til you have time and it doesn’t matter if you finish it in a day or a week…enjoy the process!

  2. I hope your lil guy is doing better. Hate when our kids give us a scare! Sewing will always be there for you- when I feel overwhelmed with my to-do list, it is a sign to take something off or stand back or else I will screw something up!

  3. Deadlines, schmeadlines. The kiddo is better, you (both) can breathe again, and you’ll sew when you have the time and the attention span.

  4. Sorry to hear about The Boy’s health scare. Hope everything is going to be ok for the forseable future.

Me and Deadlines haven’t been on speaking terms in years. If that’s any consolation…

  5. Thanks everyone, Jack is doing great! We got a clean bill of health from his pediatrician yesterday. Hopefully this was a one time deal. 🙂

  6. So sorry to hear about Jack. I been behind on my reading so I just read about it. I’m glad he is ok. Hopefully, all is ok, presently.
